Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in television and film, is best known for films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only children of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the show business at an early age and was being the lead in a variety of TV dramas before she turned 16. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge for the film Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated movies featuring models. Alexandra has been involved in many notable projects, both nationally and internationally. For instance, the British biographical documentary Control the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon are just a few of the many. Also, she was on the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
